We're guessing that One Direction will really enjoy their hiatus, not only to spend time with friends and family, but also to get a break from having to answer the same questions over and over.

During their chat on The Jonathan Ross Show, the guys were asked about Zayn Malik and it all got a bit awkward, really. Louis Tomlinson admitted that he was probably closest to Zayn while he was still with 1D, but things are not quite the same now.

While Louis said it's been a couple of weeks since they spoke, he definitely seemed uncomfortable with answering the question. He handled it well, delivering a bit of a canned answer about Zayn's decision to move on: "You know, I think we all kind of noticed that he wasn't thoroughly enjoying it and we were and you know it can be an intense job at times and I think it got a little bit too much for him and he wanted to be in a different place and that's fair enough and he's got his own way now so fair dos."

When Louis was asked about when they last spoke, he said: "I don't know a couple of weeks ago or something...I think he wants to distance himself a little bit."

As for the length of their upcoming break, we've heard a range of answers, but Harry Styles addressed it by saying that they don't know how long it'll be, really. Right now they're focused on album promotion, but after that, he said: "Then I think the point of the break is that it's going to be a break and we're going to have some time off with no pressure."
