15 Struggles of Being a Directioner

Directioners are a dedicated, hard-working fan group. Loving 1D is a beautiful thing, but at the same time, many of us experience some common struggles.

1. You refer to the band members as if they're your closest friends, and you know them on a personal, nickname level.
2015 American Music Awards - Backstage And AudienceMe: Lou is such a cutie; Oh Hazza, him and his black-and-white Instagrams; Leeyum is good people; and Neil is such a jokester.

2. You get super-heated when people diss them, and you defend them like they're your closest friends.
Hater: One Direction sucks.

Me: NEVER talk about my friends like that.

3. You claim that every song of theirs is your favorite.
*"What Makes You Beautiful" comes on*

*"Stockholm Syndrome" comes on*

*Any One Direction song comes on*

4. There isn't one interview on YouTube you haven't watched at least 10 times.
ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" - Season 13
You know every interview by heart, and everything recommended for you on YouTube involves One Direction.

5. You get emotional when you watch old videos of them.
Here come the waterworks. You're just so proud of your boys and all they have accomplished. Niall's braces 4ever. It's crazy just how fast the night changes.

6. You're Team Haylor
Celebrity Sightings - Bauer-Griffin - 2012December 2012 to January 2013 (when Harry Styles and Taylor Swift dated) is the best time period in existence. And we all know, they are getting married.

7. Someone asks you a simple question about them, and you get really in to it.
You gotta tell them the backstory, your thesis statement and your three points of proof. You know way too much information about One Direction, but you wouldn't want it any other way.

8. You can easily identify which band member is singing.
Celebrity Sightings In Los Angeles - November 19, 2015Harry's got that raspiness, Liam's got that falsetto, Niall's got that Irish accent and Louis is just one-of-a-kind.

9. You hate fake fans.
Fake fan: "I didn't like One Direction before, but I love their new album."

10. You follow every One Direction Twitter account.
vlcsnap-2015-07-10-12h43m28s106.jpgBasically all your favorites are One Direction-related. Some examples include memes of Niall before and after "Temporary Fix" and concert clips of the boys wiping out on stage.

11. You have a fake Twitter account, with a stereotypical fan-girl name, so you can low-key tweet at them.
Mine is @hairystyles108 ...hit me up with that follow.

12. You now have overly-high expectations of guys
Harry Styles Sighting - September 28, 2015Every time you spot a man bun, you take a second glance, in hopes that it's Harry. But it never is, and you're thoroughly disappointed.

13. You've always loved them, but after going to the concert, your love transformed into an obsession.
Post-concert depression is a real illness, and I have, in fact, been diagnosed with Direction Infection, after attending the OTRA Tour.

14. It's a hiatus, not a break.
One Direction In Concert - Detroit, MI1D is coming back, so use the proper term.

15. Being a Directioner is both a blessing and a curse.
Japan One DirectionBeing a Directioner is bittersweet. They have changed your life, their music is a blessing and they're perfect, gorgeous human beings, but they have consumed your life. After becoming a Directioner, your life you'll never be the same.
