Here's proof that Sasha and Malia Obama are just like any other teens.
After looking extremely unamused at their dad's Thanksgiving turkey presentation last year, the First Daughters joined their dad again at the annual White House event for more Wednesday, even managing to giggle at some of President Barack Obama's jokes this time around.
As he pardoned turkey Abe in the Rose Garden, President Obama said, "Time flies, even if turkeys don't" which got several giggles from his daughters. "That was good. That was good," Sasha said, as she and Malia cracked up. After they had a hearty laugh, Obama took a moment to thank the duo for standing beside him for another year during the event.
"They do this solely because it makes me feel good, not because they actually think this is something I should be doing," he said. "And, you know, as you get older, you appreciate when your kids just indulge you like this. So, I'm very grateful."
"I know some folks think this tradition is a little silly," he continued with a big smile. "I do not disagree." President Obama went on to crack more jokes, calling Abe TOTUS, "the turkey of the United States," which got more giggles from the girls after several moments of them both looking like they were over the whole thing before it even began.
Following the pardoning, Abe – who let out more than a few gobbles – and alternate turkey Honest were taken to Morven Park's Turkey Hill in Virginia to enjoy Thanksgiving with other past pardoned turkeys.
Something tells us Sasha and Malia were more than happy to get on with their holiday too.
