Meet the Real Life Rapunzel Who Has Never Gotten a Haircut

Can you consider what life would be like if you never got a trim or a haircut? We would think it would be one filled with split ends and disaster. But, 43-year-old Tere Lynn Svetlecich Russell managed to do just that with a smile, and her three daughters are following suit as well.

As you might imagine, with no haircuts ever, Tere's hair is really long –74 (!) inches long to be exact, according to Barcroft TV. As for her daughters, Callan's locks are 37 inches, Cendalyn's are 36 inches and Chesney's are about 27 inches. In total, they have 13 feet of hair between them...and it takes a lot of effort to keep their hair looking good.
Tere's daughters use a quarter of a bottle of conditioner each time they wash their hair in the shower, but Tere stays away from the shower when washing hers. "I tried that once years ago and my hair got so heavy with all the water that I fell on the shower floor," she told the outlet. None of them had never been to a hair salon before they appeared on the Barcroft TV segment, and when they visited one for the first time during it, the hairstylists they met were shocked at how healthy their hair was.

Still, 6-year-old Chesney is ready to let some of hers go. She said she wants to cut her hair 10 inches, but hasn't gone for the big chop just yet (not even in the salon). When she's ready though, don't look to her mom to stop her. Tere said she won't force her daughters to grow their hair for as long as she has, but wants them to make that hair choice when they're old enough to make the decision for themselves.

Total respect for Tere and her kids. The fact that they have that much healthy hair, have never cut it and are taking care of it on their own deserves a round of applause (or an excited Rapunzel-esque twirl).
