Caroline Sunshine, best known as Tinka Hessenheffer from Disney's Shake It Off now has a new playing field - The Outfield, to be exact.

Caroline recently stared in the brand new movie The Outfield, alongside Olivia Stuck, Joey Bragg and Vine stars Nash Grier and Cameron Dallas. But she was actually clueless about how much attention the boys really got. "I had no idea who Nash and Cameron were. I thought they were in a boy band," she told us. "I think I was the only young woman with Internet access who didn't know who they were."

The movie is about three baseball players who are best friends starting senior year of high school and the difficult decisions they have to make on and off the baseball field. Caroline plays Emily, who she describes as, stubborn, athletic, and very in love with Jack (played by Nash). "Emily's at that exciting and confusing time in life at the end of high school where you're closing one chapter and starting a new one." We've been there before too, Em.

She may not have known much about her castmates much before filming, but one of them definitely surprised her. "Joey Bragg is a first rate comedian. He has natural comedic timing and delivery," the 20-year-old actress said. "During filming, he would add his own lines on the spot and many of them made it into the film. Disney Channel gets stereotyped for producing certain types of actors, but there truly are some talented young comedians that come out of there and he is one who deserves more credit."

Caroline would know something about the Disney Channel stereotype because, well, she's been put in that same box. "I lost a lot of my vanity as a performer," she said about being on Shake It Up. "I didn't play the traditional 'pretty girl,' it was the best thing that ever happened to me. I don't care if I look pretty on camera, as much as I care about playing an interesting character and giving a dynamic performance. There's more to life and acting than being pretty." *Clap clap*

As for whether she prefers film or TV: "I'll go wherever the great stories and interesting characters go. Within my small body of work, I've been lucky to cross back and forth. I hope that is a theme that continues in my career," she says.

Stay tuned for our interview where Caroline talks about attending college full time and what #BUILTBYGIRLS means to her!
