A Letter to my 15-Year-Old Self
I don't even know how to start this letter except by telling you that everything will be alright. And yes, I'm talking about those late night conversations that you have with your pillow while listening to Justin Timberlake, Alicia Keys and dare I say, Nickelback (believe me, I'm eight years above you in life, and I still don't get the hate).
There are a few things that are happening in your life now that you think that are the end of the world, but in a few months, you will not even remember of their existence. For example, that on-again-off-again boyfriend who you think that you're SO in love with? Well, you two will break up - for real this time. In a few years, you will find two people who will make you so happy, like you can't even believe. Although neither of them will last as boyfriend material, they will last as friends, and you can count with both of them for everything!
Also girl, set your priorities straight when it comes to friends because I am sad to be the bearer of bad news, but your squad will become quite like the cast of Cruel Intentions. And it will be ugly! But in the end, you will see that it was for the best, and there are a few who deserve a second chance and you get to keep them close for a very long time!
You will make incredible and totally unexpected friendships in life. You will meet people from the four corners of the world, travel, live abroad and go to incredible places. You will realize what you really want to do in life, and although it will take us a long time, we will both reach that goal and cross it from our wish list.
You will realize sooner than you think that beauty is a standard that you don't want to live for, and you will be happy in your skin, always trying to feel better and better. Also, you will notice that the motto of "everything happens for a reason" is as true as can be and apart from all the bad and annoying things that will happen between you and your parents, everything will end up being the best solution.
You will have loads of ups and downs, and you will stumble a thousand times along the way, but you will be succeed in almost everything that you can and wish. Just believe and smile more, princess.
Your mistakes are your best teachers.
