Let's call 2015 the year of adventurous hair trends. After all, 2015 is the year that brought us mermaid-esque opal hair, glitter beards,
and gold leaf hair tats.
All of these trends are wild and so fun, but there's one new trend that I'm a little on the fence about. Confetti hair is making a splash on the runway,
but I'm not so sure that this look translates to actual life.
So what is confetti hair? It's not all that different from the glitter roots trend we saw a few months back. The idea is simple: just spritz your locks with hair spray, and pile on your sparkle of choice. With glitter roots, the idea is to go with small sparkles, but with confetti hair, the chunkier and more diverse the pieces, the better. The look was seen at the Ashish Gupta show during London Fashion Week and turned serious heads:This look is awesome for the runway, but in real life? I'm not so sure it translates. It's certainly great for New Year's Eve (a time when you may get confetti stuck in your locks regardless) but I'm not sure this is a look you want to whip out on a regular Saturday night. Sure, it's fun, but do you really want someone going up to you every five seconds to tell you that you have something stuck in your hair? I'll pass - and stick to some subtle glitter instead to make a statement.
