'Tis the season of giving indeed.
In the spirit of the holidays, a woman at a Florida McDonald's sparked a pay it forward movement when she decided to pay for her meal, as well as the car behinds hers, according to ABC News. And the act of kindness quickly caught on.
Following Tori Keene's gesture, people in car after car arriving at the McDonald's did the same, with 250 people ending up paying it forward as well. When cashier Marisabel Figueroa told the next car their meal had been paid for, the passenger was so moved that she decided to pay for the meal of the driver behind her too.
"I just kept giving everyone the same message, and they were all so stunned and so happy," cashier Marisabel Figueroa told the outlet. "One lady even paid for the meals of the next three cars behind her."
Marisabel said the sweet gestures lasted for nearly her entire six-hour shift, and she had never seen anything like it in her 12 years as a McDonald's employee. "It kept going and going," she said. "After the 15th car I started tally marking the number of people that were participating on a piece of paper."
With all of the craziness going on in the world as of late, it's nice to see that there are still a lot of people out there who want to lift the spirits of others.
Happy Holidays everyone!
