Help! I Got my Tampon Stuck Inside Me!

To start out, I should let you know that I do not like tampons, and I try to avoid them at all cost. A few times though, I have gotten brave and tried them out. I was not very lucky.

I was about to leave to go shopping with my parents, but I needed to use the bathroom first. When I was in there, I decided to try a tampon instead of sticking with a pad because I would be walking a lot that day. I put the tampon in, finished up and was waiting in the couch for my parents to come upstairs, so we could leave. My tampon felt really weird though, and I remembered one time my friend told me you were not suppose to feel the tampon inside of you.

I got worried and went back to the bathroom to try and fix it. That was a very bad idea. I could not get it out, and I realized it was stuck. I started freaking out, and I had no idea what to do. Instead of telling my parents because I was so embarrassed, I toughed it out and just went shopping. There were so many times when I almost would say something to my stepmom about it, but I would chicken out every single time. While I was in one of the stores, I texted one of my friends about it, and she told me to go try and get it out again. I had no luck, and it freaked me out even more.

When I got home from shopping, I had my friend do some research to try and figure out what the problem was. She told me it could have to do with my hymen, but I had no idea what that meant. At this point, I was sitting in the bathroom completely freaking out and trying everything. I could finally see the problem, and it looked like a piece of skin was wrapped around the tampon. Yes, a piece of skin. I started crying because knowing what was causing it made it hurt 10 times more.

I finally toughened up and managed to get the tampon out, but it was so awful and traumatizing. After I got it out, I walked out and sat down and told my stepmom. She told me I should have told her so that she could have helped, and honestly I really wish I had.

Now, the second time was truly bad. It was in the summer, and I was out of town visiting some family friends. We had been swimming that day, so of course, I had to wear a tampon. When I got back from swimming and went to the bathroom to take out my tampon, I came to the horrifying realization that it was stuck again! I had no idea what I was going to do this time because my stepmom was four hours away. I called her, and she didn't answer, so I had to go to my family friend and tell her. By this point, I was bawling my eyes out because I was so humiliated. She drew me a warm bath and had me just sit in there and relax until I could get it. Turns out, it was the same case of a piece of skin wrapped around my tampon again. I finally managed to get the tampon unstuck and don't think I will ever be using a tampon in the nearby future.

If you ever are in a situation like mine, you really need to go and tell someone because you could do more damage by trying to handle the situation yourself. No matter how embarrassing or humiliating you feel, it is really the best thing to do. There could be a number of reasons why your tampon got stuck.
