Russian makeup artist, Elya Bulochka, is receiving some major backlash after posting images from her latest photoshoot. According to the Daily Mail, Elya posted a now deleted image on Instagram of her holding a bag of fish with the caption, "Guess what I'm going to be wearing today." The makeup artist then showed off models wearing makeup, gems and dead fish -- eek! Things became very clear what she used the fish for -- makeup!

Immediately, animal activists had a lot to say about Elya's nontraditional beauty practices. They bashed her for harming animals for the sake of art. Elya stood up to her critics by posting the below image of her face covered in sardines next to a photo of her "artwork". The caption read, "play a game of double standards." The image was an attempt to shed light on the double standards that exist by people eating the fish versus wearing the fish.

What do you think of Elya's makeup techniques? Is she wrong for using dead fish for glam shots? Sound off in the comments!
