The 27-year-old is the new face of the fashion brand's new lipstick campaign, marking the first time Louboutin has featured a full-figured model in an ad campaign, according to Daily Mail.
Clementine is set to star in Louboutin's new social media campaign for its line of rouge lipstick, and she's already appeared in a video online wearing the brand's new Rouge Matte Velvet Lipstick. In the clip, the model pouts her red lips and slays on the streets of Paris, while an Usher song plays in the background and wind whips through her hair.
"Such a big French brand using a curvier girl for her face is a big step," Clementine told Daily Mail. 'Not for curvy women, not for freckles, just for women." She added, "The beauty norm is changing and differences that used to be weaknesses are now turning into strengths."
Before she landed her deal with Louboutin, Clementine had a tough time finding modeling work in Paris. So tough that she ended up moving to New York to advance her career. "Being curvy and freckly was never easy back when I was in France," she said. "Now beauty is changing and brands are putting girls that are different in the spotlight."
Clementine commended Louboutin for "leading the way" by choosing more diverse models, adding, "France has always been late in terms of diversity but this is one little step forward. I am hoping that more little steps will follow."
We certainly hope so.
