It's a familiar scene to all of us: You walk into your local Starbucks with the intent to grab your regular Grande Pike Place and get out of there. But while you're waiting in line, those great-smelling seasonal latte flavors like peppermint mocha, chestnut praline and caramel brulée begin to call your name. Don't you deserve to #TreatYoself? The holidays only come once a year, right?

We all know what cray-cray calorie bombs those drinks can be, so it's wise to pass if you're not trying to unhinge your healthy eating habits before you start baking cookies for Santa on Christmas Eve.

But fun fact: You can actually ask your barista to make your drink a little lighter with a few #LifeHacks. Here's what the Starbucks team recommends for lightening up any holiday bevvie:

Request nonfat milk, coconut milk or soy milk.

Ask for a sugar-free syrup with less calories or sugar. Request less syrup or fewer pumps to reduce sweetness and calories (we find that most flavored lattes are wayyyy too sweet in the first place, anyway!).

Ordering less whip or no whip saves anywhere from 80 to 110 calories depending on the size and type of drink!
