During the Miss Universe pageant Sunday night, host Steve Harvey announced that the winner of the pageant was Miss Colombia. After he did, Miss Colombia was overcome with emotion as she walked down to get her crown from Miss Universe 2014, the former Miss Colombia. The sash was put on her, she was smiling and waving, and clearly so excited.
Then, Steve slowly walked back on stage and revealed that he had made a huge mistake and announced the wrong winner. The real winner was actually Miss Philippines. O.M.G.
Miss Philippines, who thought she had lost, was standing in the back with the other contestants in complete shock, looking as if she wasn't sure if Steve was joking, if she was supposed to walk up and get crowned too, or how to handle the situation.
She eventually walked to the front to get crowned and receive the sash that Miss Colombia was wearing. Our jaws were probably dropped for the ten minutes that this went on.
And, as expected, social media exploded with commentary about it.

Then, Steve apologized on Twitter, and wrote, "I want to apologize emphatically to Miss Philippians and Miss Columbia. This was a terribly honest human mistake and I am so regretful." And the roasting went to another level when people quickly noticed he spelled both countries wrong.
He deleted that tweet, and apologized again, writing, "I'd like to apologize wholeheartedly to Miss Colombia & Miss Philippines for my huge mistake. I feel terrible."
