The holidays aren't just about whipping up your Christmas lists, it's also about giving back (it's the season of giving, after all).
To do just that, Shay Mitchell teamed up with the charitable group Free the Children, which implements "culturally-appropriate international development projects that help families and communities lift themselves out of poverty." Making that even cooler, the Pretty Little Liars star wants to get all of us involved too.
Shay is not only starring in the organization's global campaign, but the actress is also sharing the impact of the Me to We Rafiki bracelets in it. The beaded bracelets – that are beyond cute – have been handmade with love by women in Free the Children's communities in Kenya, empowering them to earn a sustainable source of income and provide for their families.
"We are friends, we are sisters, we are daughters, we are stronger together," Shay says in the clip, before adding that the bracelets are a way to "wear your passion to change the world." Sign us up.
To nab a bracelet, simply head over to MetoWe.com and scoop one. Each bracelet is $10 and has a special way to give back attached to it. For example, if you buy the 'We Are Water' bracelet, you will give one month of clean water to a person in a community overseas.
If you buy a 'We Are Education' bracelet, you'll provide one month of school supplies for a child. The purchase of a 'We Are Health' bracelet will donate one month of health care to a child, and there's also the 'We Are Food' and 'We Are Income' bracelets, which provide a month of healthy food or financial tools to empower women, respectively.
We're not only swooning over the appearance of these bracelets, but also the cause. This, friends, is a win-win situation.
