We're pretty firm believers that style and comfort don't have to be mutually exclusive, especially when it comes to shoes. As gorgeous as some shoes are, a stiletto heel or a pointed toe could leave us kicking those puppies off an hour into the night without any regard as to what happens to our feet next. This New Year's, we're pulling out all the stops style-wise to make sure we ring in 2016 in the most chic way possible. That being said, we don't want to lose feeling in our toes by the end of the night, so we're opting for shoes that are equal parts comfy and cute for anything the night throws our way. The best part? They're all under $50.

1. Trying Fringe on For Size
AX Paris Tasseled Peep Toe Chunky Heels

Whenever you're trying to rock a pair of heels with minimal impact to your ankles or the balls of your feet, always opt for a chunkier heel. When heels are thicker, they distribute the weight better than if you were walking on a piercing stiletto. AX Paris Tasseled Peep Toe Chunky Heels ($37, AX Paris) are perfect for a long night on your feet because the heel is extra thick, and the free back means no squishing your feet into tight, restricting pumps. Also, the added fringe on the lip makes for a very stylish touch.

2. The Classic Wedge

Wedges are also great for getting some height without all the pain that usually comes with it. These Jessica Simpson 'Delina' 4" Heel Wedges ($43.73, Nordstrom) are made of super soft, faux suede, which means none of the added pinching of leather. The rounded toe also won't squeeze your tootsies as you walk around throughout the night. Did we mention they're on sale?

3. The Bootie Appeal

If you're looking for something fashion-forward, but don't want to expose your feet to the elements, booties are always your best bet. These Via Pinky Kayla-84 Women's Comfy Stacked Chunky Heel Ankle Booties ($41.49, Overstock.com) come complete with a 3-inch heel for a bit of height, and a combination of suede and quilted leather for contrasting texture. And if you don't like it in beige, it's also available in red or black.

4. When in Doubt, Flats

There's never anything wrong with simply opting for flats, especially when the flats are this cute. Lace up flats, like this pair of Flick Lace Up Ghillie Shoes from TopShop ($45, TopShop) are the latest in shoe fashion right now, giving an extra touch on your classic ballet slipper. These also feature scalloping, along with silver studs to add another layer to the look and make you rethink your notions that flats can be boring. You'll be the only girl at the party whose still looking good without the added feet-aggravation.
