If you practice yoga then you've probably heard of Gaiam, or even have one of the company's yoga mats. What a lot of yogis and fitness folks don't know is that Gaiam is more than just an adorbs logo on a decent yoga mat. The company creates fitness media, too.
Gaiam's latest venture focuses on channeling your inner Zen with an app called Meditation Studio. In today's world, social media, TV, movies, apps, and more constantly distract us. Gaiam poses the question: Where is there time to focus on yourself? Sometimes we move so fast we miss the value in what we're doing, if there's even any value at all.
With Meditation Studio, users are able to build a meditation practice that caters specifically to their needs. First-time users log into the app and browse over 160 different meditation tactics, finding ones that cater specifically to what they personally need. Each user is able to set an intention for meditation, or if a user simply wants to get into meditation as a first-timer there are options as well. Say you get stressed AF at work and you just want to unwind and find some time to relax and ease your mind, there are tons of exercises that cater to that via the app.
Once a user has identified the type of meditation they'd like to do, then they can build a custom profile. The profile makes it easy to build and track a meditation plan. If a user wants to take their meditation practices a level deeper, they can simply change their meditation profile.
The only downside? The app's $2.99, but you're probably already paying a monthly fee for the Kardashian/Jenner apps, so what's another (one-time) purchase of $3? #GetYourChillOn
