While the pregnant CNN anchor was in the middle of live broadcast Monday morning, she briefly passed out while discussing the war on terror. Luckily, the camera had just cut away to a graphic when it happened, but viewers could still hear Poppy's speech slurring before it went out altogether, followed by heavy breathing.
CNN quickly cut to reporter Brian Stelter, and in a matter of minutes, #poppyharlow started trending, with #prayersforpoppy popping up all over the social media site as well. Although Poppy probably should've stepped away from the broadcast for the rest of the day, she reappeared on the morning show almost immediately to let viewers know she was okay, and to show her appreciation for their support.
Thank you all for your concern and messages! I am ok! Passed out briefly and am with the doctor now. So thankful to our amazing CNN team.— Poppy Harlow (@PoppyHarlowCNN) December 28, 2015
Whew. This is the first child for Poppy and her hubby, Sinisa Babsic, who tied the knot in 2012. Last month, the journalist couldn't help but gush about their little one, telling TV Newser, "We could not be more thrilled to have a little girl on the way. We feel blessed and are excited for the adventure ahead."
Update from the hospital -- our little girl due this spring is doing just fine. Was a scare but we are both ok. Thank you all so much!— Poppy Harlow (@PoppyHarlowCNN) December 28, 2015
Hopefully, that adventure won't include any more scary fainting incidents.
