Mark Salling Released on Bail After Arrest for Child Pornography
The Glee alum was bailed out of jail Wednesday with the help of his family, who reportedly put down $2,000 (10 percent of his $20,000 bail) to get him out, according to TMZ. Mark was arrested Tuesday for possession of child porn after police seized his computer from his Los Angeles home and supposedly found pornographic images on it of children who were significantly younger than 15 and 16 years old.
Sources told the site that the search came about after one of Mark's ex-girlfriends tipped off cops. Police investigated to make sure she was telling the truth, obtained a warrant and served him Tuesday morning.
After news of his arrest surfaced, the director of his upcoming independent movie, Gods and Secrets, told E! News he will cut Mark out of the project if the allegations turn out to be true. "Today I was made aware of the serious allegations against Salling as a result of numerous media outlets hounding me as to whether he would remain in Gods and Secrets," director Adi Shankar told E! News in a statement.
"I won't feed our growing pitchfork culture," he continued. "I'm going to wait for all the facts to arrive and if in fact these allegations are true, I will immediately take action which includes removing his scenes from the project.
Mark's court date is scheduled for Jan. 22, 2016. So far, he hasn't released a statement about the circumstances surrounding his arrest.
