Amy Schumer Sort Of Apologizes For Joke About Taylor Swift's 'Thigh Gap'

• The comedienne posted an Instagram photo Monday night referencing Swift's leggy Grammys look.
• Following the backlash, Schumer posted a jokey beard photo with a clever caption.

Amy Schumer isn't really in the business of apologizing for jokes -- except for that one time -- so when social media demanded that the comedian address claims of body shaming over a controversial photo post poking fun at Taylor Swift's "thigh gap," here's what she had to say: "#relax."

After Grammys golden girl, Swift, put forth a leggy display on the red carpet Monday night, Schumer responded with a photo of herself and fellow funny woman Bridget Everett frolicking on the beach in their swimsuits.

"Taylor that's not a thigh gap," she captioned the photo. "This is a thigh gap."

Schumer's Instagram comments section went from zero to skinny shaming in seconds, with users dragging her for even mentioning Swift.

"You have personal issues if you are skinny shaming," one commenter wrote. "It is equally as ignorant as fat shaming. People can't always help the way they were born. Please think about the msg you are sending."

"You could say the same about your friend Jennifer Lawrence? I thought we were past taking down other women for what is or isn't a 'real body'?" said another.

On Wednesday, Schumer responded by posting a photo of herself with a beard, naturally, in a thinly veiled attempt to address those she angered.

"That's not a beard this is a beard. So sorry to anyone with a beard this may offend," she captioned the undeniably hilarious pic (C'mon Taylor, admit it). "I am a comic and should never make fun of myself at the expense of anyone else that I wasn't making fun of in the first place. #relax #beard."

Fingers crossed we're not in for another round of "Bad Blood" because could it ever get better than this?
