Demi Lovato wants to clarify a few things.

Earlier this week, the singer caught a lot of flak after she seemingly called out Taylor Swift on Twitter for donating $250,000 to Kesha to help with her legal woes.

"Take something to Capitol Hill or actually speak up about something, then I'll be impressed," Lovato tweeted, causing Swifties everywhere to go on the offensive.

Lovato, 23, didn't name names, but she tweeted just after Kesha's mom, Pebe Sebert, shared the news of Swift's donation and after she herself penned a Twitter essay on female empowerment.

As it turns out, the "Heart Attack" singer wasn't trying to throw shade -- she just got "fired up."

In a new Instagram post -- an infographic showing the ratio of unreported rapists to reported rapists to jailed rapists -- the "Confident" singer tried to clear the air.

"As most people know, I tend to get fired up about the things I believe in," she wrote in the caption, adding, "and although my heart and intentions are always in the right place, unfortunately sometimes my passion gets the best of me and causes me to say things that I probably shouldn't say."

Lovato added, "Everyone has their own way of giving support to others, and at the end of the day, helping victims is all that matters."
