On Sunday night, Kim Kardashian was held at gunpoint and robbed of millions of dollars worth of jewelry at her Paris hotel room.
The reality star reportedly had her hands and feet bound by the thieves ― two "armed, masked men" ― and was left "badly shaken" by the incident. Thankfully, though, her rep confirmed to The Huffington Post, she was "physically unharmed."
Following the terrifying incident, Kanye West stopped his show in New York mid-set, telling the crowd he had a "family emergency."
Once news spread around the internet, online trolls couldn't help but joke about it, leading many celebrities to jump to Kardashian's defense on Twitter. They also shared their love and support for the mother of two.
Kardashian's good friend Chrissy Teigen contemplated fame and celebrity, while assuring the Twitterverse, "some shit just isn't funny."
"Fame is interesting," she wrote, "Celebs are supposed to love you guys while also knowing you'd make a meme of our dead bodies to get retweets."
She concluded, "I just miss empathy, in general, for everyone."
