Honor Society
Since the Spring of 2009, Honor Society has been named a breakout band to watch by Rolling Stone and a Buzzworthy artist by MTV.
Honor Society’s explosive growth is due in large part to the commitment of an ever growing base of intensely loyal fans that the band communicated with using both MySpace and YouTube. Their infectious sound, skilled musicianship, high energy live shows and sense of style has led to an ever-growing fan base. Honor Society’s debut album, Fashionably Late, was released on September 15, 2009 and reached #18 on Billboard’s 200 Chart.
High school friends, Michael Bruno and Jason Rosen, had spent time during their years in Rockland County, New
York, playing in various bands but had always spoke of forming a group of their own – one that would reflect their musical influences that ranged from Stevie Wonder to Prince to Kanye West. After graduating from college,
Michael (NYU School Of Music) and Jason (Berklee College Of Music) connected with Andrew Lee and Alexander Noyes (who had formerly played drums for the Jonas Brothers). Andrew and Alexander would introduce rock music and similar influences to the group that would lead to a signature Honor Society sound.
The band would spend the next year touring the New York and New Jersey areas playing at local bars, clubs and even house parties in order to build a solid fan base. Word about the band’s music and live performances eventually caught the attention of the Jonas Brothers. After attending one of Honor Society’s shows, the two groups met and formed an instant creative connection. The band immediately began recording songs for Fashionably Late with producer John Fields (Switchfoot, Jimmy Eat World) and the Jonas Brothers. In between their studio sessions, Honor Society hit the road with the Jonas Brothers as they launched their world tour in North America. For a band that had played house parties months earlier, it was practically a shock to their system. “It was seriously unbelievable!” reflects Michael Bruno. “We had built a respectable fan base on MySpace and a lot of them were from outside the United States. But to walk out to the arena with 50,000 people, start playing our music and have all those people singing the words you wrote…you can’t describe that feeling.” While simultaneously opening for the Jonas shows, the band would also headline their own club tour called The Full Moon Crazy Tour.
With a headlining tour of their own now under their belt and even more appearances lined up, Honor Society has become one of the hardest working bands in the business and they have no intention of stopping anytime soon. “It’s hard to believe that a year ago, we were in New Jersey playing at local bars and clubs to anyone who would listen,” says Bruno. “To have been able to finish our first album and create something that we believe is a true representation of where we have been and what we have become is beyond cool. We couldn’t have done any of this without our fans believing in us from day one.”

If you could have a super power, what would it be?
Andrew Lee: Flight
Jason Rosen: The super power I'd love to have is the ability to fly.
Michael Bruno: The power to mind-tweet. Tweets straight from my brain to your time-line.
-
If you could have been born in any decade, which one would it be?
Andrew Lee: The 30's...the 1730's.
Jason Rosen: The decade I would have loved to have been born in would be the 1950's so that I could be a teenager in the 1960's.
Michael Bruno: I'm cool with when I was born.
Alexander Noyes: I love exactly where I am at... a mid-1980s baby. There has been so much growth during my lifetime. Musically, I have gotten to grow up listening to so many influential artists, in all types of different genres: Nirvana, Radiohead, Notorious B.I.G., Kanye West and Justin Timberlake. The present is like no other time in history. There is instant access and as a music lover I get to experience it all!

What was the first concert you ever went to?
Andrew Lee: Carlos Santana
Jason Rosen: My first rock concert was 'Blind Melon' in NYC at Roseland Ballroom. It was an incredible experience.
Michael Bruno: Van Halen! My dad took me to watch the amazing guitar playing.
Alexander Noyes: I started going to shows when I was 11 or 12, mostly local shows at the Lion's Club or a VFW hall... they all sort of blend together. I remember the first BIG show I went to was for my friend's 13th birthday party and he took us all to see Korn and Staind. The show was at the local arena, and even though I wasn't into either of those bands, I remember being so captivated by the size of the crowd. At 13 I never imagined that one day I would be performing at that same level.

If you could hang out with anyone dead or alive who would it be?
Andrew Lee: My grandfather
Jason Rosen: I would have loved to hang out with John Lennon. He is one of my musical icons.
Michael Bruno: There are so many people it’s hard to choose one but I would love to hang out with Prince. He is one of my major musical influences.
Alexander Noyes: I would love to grab lunch with someone like Aaron Spears, who plays drums for Usher and on the American Idol tour. I am always trying to learn and pick up little things that I can incorporate into my own playing. He is one of my favorite drummers and I would love to steal a couple tricks from him.
-
What’s would be your ideal vacation?
Andrew Lee: Heli-skiing in British Columbia
Jason Rosen: An ideal vacation would involve the beach and a lot of sun, also some hiking and adventure. I love exploring new surroundings.
Michael Bruno: I would love to go to Greece, I've heard its beautiful there. There's also a more discreet location I'd like to hit but I'm keeping that one a secret.
Alexander Noyes: Quebec City in the winter. I got the chance to go there on a high school trip and fell in love with the city. I haven't been back since. Next time I go, I need to find someone special to bring and share it with.
-
What’s your favorite cereal?
Andrew Lee: Granola with yogurt
Jason Rosen: Honey Bunches of Oats
Michael Bruno: Don't eat cereal a lot but Cinnamon Toast Crunch is a classic.
Alexander Noyes: I really like that Ezekiel cereal... some strawberries on top... and you're golden
-
If you had to eat one food for the rest of your life what would it be?
Andrew Lee: Hummus
Jason Rosen: I would eat shrimp pad thai forever.
Michael Bruno: Doesn't matter as long as I can have iced coffee too
Alexander Noyes: I just got a brand new juicer. I would be happy to have an "A.B.C." juice (apple, beet, carrot) every meal... and maybe some chips and salsa
-
As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Andrew Lee: A rockstar
Jason Rosen: I always wanted to be in music, either as a performer/writer or a producer. I was also very interested in acting and directing.
Michael Bruno: A musician, always
Alexander Noyes: I really wanted to be a Sportscenter anchor. My dad was really into sports especially the New York Giants and it was something that we bonded over. When I was growing up, I practiced my penmanship by re-writing all the players names and their bios from the team's yearbook and I had a card collection that filled my entire closet! Hopefully I get my shot after music...

What was your favorite Halloween costume as a kid?
Andrew Lee: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle - Raphael
Jason Rosen: I dressed up as Zorro one time. Another favorite was Willy Wonka (based on the original Gene Wilder performance).
Michael Bruno: I was Michael Jackson a couple of years in a row.
Alexander Noyes: When I was 2 my mom made me a Lil' Sprout costume. Lil' Sprout was the son of the Jolly Green Giant... like the frozen vegetable guy. That was the ultimate costume. It’s been all downhill since.
-
Which one of the five senses could you live without if you had to pick one?
Andrew Lee: Taste
Jason Rosen: Hmm if I had to choose, I could probably live without smell.
Michael Bruno: Taste
Alexander Noyes: I could probably go without the sense of smell.
-

Andrew Lee: Cat
Jason Rosen: I would love to be a bird, to see the world from above.

-
Favorite Saturday morning cartoon character as a kid?
Andrew Lee: Garfield
Jason Rosen: My favorite cartoon character growing up was Mighty Mouse.
Michael Bruno: I was usually outside playing sports.
Alexander Noyes: I loved watching Scooby-Doo growing up. I remember really wanting to figure out the mystery before Scooby and Shaggy did... They would have gotten away with it too, if it wasn't for me.
-
What is your favorite part of being famous?
Andrew Lee: I love being able to do what I love to do every day.
Jason Rosen: Getting to travel the country and meet so many amazing fans in every city.

What do you like to do on their down time?
Andrew Lee: Run, read, and watch sports on TV
Jason Rosen: I love to read books and go to the movies. I also really enjoy outdoor
Michael Bruno: If I'm not writing music I'm usually running or working out, I really like to stay in shape and it also helps clear my mind.
Alexander Noyes: I really like to cook. A lot of times I make dinner for everybody in the apartment and we all sit down and have a family style meal. I love the sense of completion... you start with ingredients, you put in the work and at the end you get the reward of great tasting food and getting to share it.
