Now that the beloved Ramona books by Beverly Cleary and even Where the Wild Things Are have received the big screen treatment, what children's book is next?
According to Variety, Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day is being developed for the big screen by Shawn Levy and 20th Century Fox. Rob Lieber will write the adapted screenplay, which revolves around family members collectively enduring the worst day of their lives. In the book, the central character, Alexander's day goes from bad to worse after he wakes up with gum in his hair. He gets so frustrated that by bedtime, he threatens to move to Australia.
This was one of my favorite books growing up, so it will be interesting to see how it's made into a movie. Will you go see it?
