What's a typical day in the life of Anna Maria Perez de Tagle?
A typical work day is waking up early, making sure I get to set on time (it's very difficult with LA traffic) and usually rehearsing right away. What we normally did on Hannah Montana was rehearse on the set, block our movements, maybe take a break, then do a run-through for the producers to make sure everything was perfect for filming day. In between sessions, I would do a wardrobe fitting, which is always my favorite thing to do because I absolutely love clothes.
Which of your characters is most like you? ... least like you?
I honestly love all the characters I've played. Ashley (Hannah Montana), Miracle (Cake), Ella (Camp Rock), and Joy (Fame) are all alike and different in many ways. All of my characters are fashionistas - they love clothes, as do I of course! Joy is the one that's most like me because she went to a performing arts high school like myself and then was home schooled and finished high school with honors. She's a normal girl next door trying to follow her dreams, and I saw a lot of myself in her. We have almost the same upbringing and goals in life. Ashley, Miracle and Ella are different because they are all pretty ditsy and air-headed and I've always been a straight-A student.
You have a beautiful voice. Are you working on any solo singing projects?
I have been in the studio many times already with an awesome producer, Michael Raphael. We've come up with some really catchy, danceable songs. Coming up with songs and the right sound is definitely a long process, so I'm still currently working on new songs as much as I can.
You're going to be 21 in December. What do you want to do for your birthday?
I have to do it in Vegas! It's all about Las Vegas when anyone turns 21. There's nothing planned just yet, but I'm hoping to do something fun.
Emmy, Oscar, or Tony?
If I were to snag an Emmy, Tony, or an Oscar in my lifetime, it would be the biggest honor. It would just show that my talent has been appreciated and that I do great work. I would be set for life.
