Carrie Underwood is taking the big leap from the stage to the big screen as many musicians do. Naturally, the country singing superstar was nervous about her first acting gig in the movie Soul Surfer, convinced her acting skills would be laughable alongside her co-stars Helen Hunt and Dennis Quaid, but it turns out she wasn't too bad.
Underwood was prepared to wince at her performance, but she was in for a pleasant surprise when she realized it wasn't too shabby. In fact, she was quite pleased with the finished product.
The country singer stars as a church youth leader in the upcoming biopic of teenage wave-rider Bethany Hamilton, who refused to quit the sport after a shark bit off her arm.
She tells the Associated Press, "I really liked how everything turned out, including myself. I was really expecting the worst from myself, and I really surprised myself."
Does this mean we won't be hearing anymore tunes from her lovely voice? Nope, she is sure to be staying on the music scene for a while. She adds, "There are people that are absolutely amazing actors and actresses, and I am not one of those, though who's to say one day; you never know, maybe I will be. But I'm definitely new at this and just doing what's fun right now, and I love my music; that's my first love."Are you excited to see Carrie Underwood on the big screen?
