It's hard to believe it's been a year since the devastaing earthquake in Chile.
On February 27, 2010, an 8.8 magnitude earthquake struck Chile , triggering a huge tsunami that killed almost 500 people and affected 1.8 million others. Americans responded generously and, as a result, the American Red Cross and its partners in the global Red Cross network have been able to help hundreds more than 100,000 Chileans over the last year. Since the quake and tsunami hit they have provided resources for emergency relief, longer-term recovery and disaster preparedness programs.
