Demi Lovato stepped out for the MTV Video Music Awards looking stunning, but the 19-year-old immediately faced backlash from haters for looking fit and healthy.

Haters took to twitter and other social media outlets to comment on Demi's weight saying she was looking "chunky," to which Demi took matters into her own hands to respond. Demi originally tweeted, "I've gained weight. Get over it. That's what happens when you get out of treatment for AN EATING DISORDER."

Demi quickly deleted that post however and replaced it with, "Guess what, I'm healthy and happy, and if you're hating on my weight you obviously aren't. :)" And Demi's fans also defended the beauty by getting her trending with phrases like "Demi Lovato is Stunning" for over 9 hours!

ABC News featured the story on the morning news, showing a wonderfully positive take on it and praising Demi for sticking up for herself and being a great role model. No one should have to deal with bullying and cyberbullying of any kind. Demi, you were definitely on the top of our VMA best dressed list and you look gorgeous.

Demi thanked her fans for all their support saying, "God I love you guys.. Thank you. Don't know what I did to deserve you all… But wow.. I love you all."

Demi also showed love for her fans on her new Seventeen blog.
