Need some new music to listen to? Let us introduce you to Cris Cab!
Check out the premiere of his music video for his single "Take You Away." At only 18 years old, Cris has already made a name for himself on the music scene. Cris began releasing music and videos via his Facebook and YouTube pages and his cover of Wiz Khalifa's "Black & Yellow" quickly went viral and has been viewed over 350 thousand times and his Youtube videos have been viewed by over 1 million people. His latest original release, "Good Girls" was buzzed about enough to be featured on the Billboard.com home page for several weeks.
Around the same time, Cris met Pharrell Williams through a friend of a friend. He played Williams some of his early recordings and says that the famed artist and producer gave him some advice on how to develop his songs. "3 years later, I met up with him again, and was able to play him my newer music and he was blown away. He saw that I took his advice and that I had grown as a songwriter," says Cab. Pharrell, who calls Cab an "exceptional talent," now serves as Cris' mentor and one of his biggest supporters.
"I knew from the moment he grabbed his guitar and sang that first note that with the proper nurturing, that kid had it. He is merely warming up." says Williams, "This kid is just getting started."
Cris released his debut EP, "Foreword," on June 7th and embarked on a 13-city tour. The EP is available at online retailers such as iTunes and Amazon and also available as a free download via CrisCab.com and Cris's Facebook page.
