Taylor Swift spent the week playing 4 sold out shows at the Staples Center and I was lucky enough to attend the two final shows on Saturday and Sunday night.
Taylor really proved herself with her Fearless tour, so I was definitely curious as to how she'd step it up on her Speak Now tour. Taylor definitely goes for the theatrics to create a great show that is fun and entertaining. With big sets, fancy dresses, and dancers, you feel like you're transported right into Taylor's diary…which is what she's going for!
On Saturday night, famous faces like Ashton Kutcher, Demi Moore, Gene Simmons, and his family were spotted by the soundbooth watching the show. During her LA shows, Taylor has been bringing out special guests to perform with. She performed with Jason Mraz and Justin Bieber, and on Saturday she brought out her friends Hot Chelle Rae to perform their hit single "Tonight, Tonight."
Sunday's show also brought out some famous faces. Spotted in the crowd were Taylor Lautner, Ashley Greene, Garrett Hedlund, Reese Witherspoon, and her kids. Taylor made the crowd scream during her ballad "Back to December" when she changed "So if the chain is on your door, I understand" to "This is for the boy from Michigan" for Taylor Lautner. She continued to fuel the audience after her set at the back of the arena when she gave Lautner a huge hug. Lautner had a blast at the show. He was singing along and dancing the entire time. At one point, he and Ashley Greene danced together.
The big surprises of the night though were Ellen Degeneres and Nicki Minaj, who both joined the 21-year-old on stage. Ellen popped up during "Our Song" and took the stage to play the triangle and the washboard, while Nicki came on stage to do her hit "Superbass."
After the song was over, Nicki raved about Taylor, "Taylor started this ';Superbass' frenzy and I want to thank her from the bottom of my heart."
We don't want to give the whole show away, but the show is visually stunning and my fingers are crossed they will put a DVD out on it. The show is full of dancing, acrobatics, energy, music and fun. Check out some videos and pictures from the shows. If you have a chance to check out the Speak Now tour, I highly recommend it, whether you're a huge Taylor fan or not. She knows how to put on a show.
