"Glee" stars including Matthew Morrison, Chris Colfer, and Cory Monteith have thrown their support behind a campaign encouraging youngsters to take up music.
The actors, along with Mark Salling, Jenna Ushkowitz and Harry Shum, Jr., visited a school in Los Angeles earlier this month to promote The Education Through Music organization, which aims to introduce students to the arts.
The famous group spent time with the kids and helped them design and make their own instruments, including a guitar fashioned from a box and string. Shum, Jr. is adamant studying music will encourage kids to embrace their education, saying, "Arts did help me, it got me really excited to go to school."
Morrison adds, "We're here building instruments this morning, it's very exciting. This is a great organisation helping kids get into the music.
"Kids who get into music, their maths scores improve, their reading improves… music has been proved to be a great facilitator for education."
