It looks like the list of names being considered for the coveted role of "Katniss" in The Hunger Games is slimming down.
According to Variety, Oscar nominee Jennifer Lawrence is very close to signing a deal to take on the role of "Katniss."
Hunger Games, based on the novel by Collins, is set in a dystopian future where a young woman joins a survival contest to save her community. Tome is the first in a trilogy that's garnered comparisons to the Twilight series.
Hailee Steinfeld and Abigail Breslin, both 14, have also been considered, but their age might have a factor in Lawrence, 20, getting the role.
Lawrence can next be seen in X-Men: First Class and House at the End of the Street.
