As if the Twitter world wasn't already mourning the loss of our favorite tweeters like Miley Cyrus, Amanda Bynes, and Demi Lovato, now we have to lose another Twitter favorite, John Mayer.
It's sad, but true, the rocker has shut down his Twitter page.
The musician was a regularly tweeter when the micro-blogging site first became popular, but his interest in updating his millions of followers waned after several of his more controversial posts hit the headlines.
In April he threatened to quit the site altogether, insisting it had made him a target for "haters" and Mayer has stuck to his word – he closed down his Twitter account on Sunday.
His publicist states that there is no need to update fans as his Battles Studies Tour is "now at a close and a return to the studio planned".
The rep adds that Mayer will still communicate with his fans through his official blog.
We will miss you John!
Are you sad to see John leave Twitter?
