Josh Drama is still embarrassed by an inflight mix-up that got him thrown off a plane last year, blaming the whole awful experience on a grumpy steward.
The actor was texting friends to tell them his flight was delayed as the plane was pulling away from the terminal and the unfriendly steward decided to make an example of him – and get him ejected.
Appearing on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Friday night, Duhamel recalled, "I'm texting and he (steward) comes by and goes, ';Turn your phone off or you're off the plane.'
"I looked at the guy next to me and I said, ';Did he say that I'm off the plane…?' I was finishing my text and he comes back through and he says, ';I told you three times to turn your phone off.' I said, ';No you didn't, you told me twice.'
"I'm turning it off and it takes a while to power down… so then he goes, ';I told you to turn your phone off'. I go, 'It's off, look, there's the power down screen'… He starts looking at me and I start looking at him and he shakes his head and he gets on the phone and he calls somebody and I'm like, ';Oh, I think he's calling for them…' and, sure enough, they turn the plane back around to go back to the gate.
"It was really nothing. I think it was just one of those things where I think he was having a bad day… The lesson that I learned from that is you cannot win. They hold the power."
