Grammy Nominated Pop/R&B Singer Keri Hilson performed alongside Broadway Kids Care last night at the lighting of the UNICEF Snowflake in New York City.
UNICEF Ambassador and celebrity designer Vern Yip, along with Peninsula Hotel GM Robert Rechtermann and President & CEO of U.S. for UNICEF Caryl Stern also helped light the snowflake which is hanging above the intersection of 57th Street and Fifth Avenue. The Snowflake is an iconic holiday fixture.
Designed by Ingo Maurer, with 16,000 Baccarat crystals, it serves as a beacon of hope, peace and compassion to the vulnerable children around the world. It hangs as a reminder of the organization's commitment to reach a day when zero children die from preventable causes. UNICEF has saved more children's lives than any other humanitarian organization in the world. Working in more than 150 countries, it provides children with health care, clean water, nutrition, education, emergency relief, and more.
