Did you get a chance to watch the MTV VMA's last night? Our resident fashion and style expert Marissa Machado has a new blog weighing on the night's fashion. Check it out below and make sure to visit her blog on the artist's page.
Last night as I was gearing up to watch the red carpet for this year's MTV Video Music Awards, I had the same feeling I did when I was 16-built up excitement and anticipation and then sheer boredom when it finally came to watching the show. I kept waiting to see what crazy outfits would appear on the red carpet or if there would be a performance that pushed the envelope, but neither of these happened unfortunately.
I was able to get a look at the good, the bad, and the...well Lady Gaga.
First up was Katy Perry and while I am loving her new album, I was not loving her look. She said she felt like ';an ice skater' and I couldn't have said it better myself. From the sheer lace look to the colored extensions, I did not get the look at all. I thought she looked pretty just not her best.
What would the VMAs be with out an appearance from Jersey Shore's Snooki? The self-proclaimed Guidette looked like the best version of her self last night. She left the poof at the shore and glammed it up with some new fringe. I thought it was a step in the right direction.
Much to everyone's surprise, Rihanna did make an appearance performing with Eminem. She is always at the top of my list and last night she did not disappoint!. She was rocking the kool-aid hair and seriously looked like an angel on the stage.
Lindsay Lohan made her first appearance since returning form jail/rehab and took a jab at herself…..I thought she looked healthy and even happy.
Overall, I was not too impressed with the entire show, but now for my best and worst dressed….
Hands-down Lady Gaga had it all wrong in every look she wore. I did however like that we were able to see her face and a touch of normal makeup. That was the first time I felt I was able to see what this Lady really looked like. What I didn't like were the head pieces and the wig choice. But worst of all, what was that meat look?
Now to my favorite of the evening (drum roll please!) Ashley Greene! She wore a black and white number that was fitted to perfection. Some may have thought the dress was too short, but I loved it. She is young with an incredible figure so I say go for it. Her hair was perfectly wind blown to look effortless and her makeup consisted of the perfect smokey eye and nude lip. Ashley took all the right steps in looking glammed without looking over done. With that said I can't wait until the next Twilight movie…
Do you agree with Marissa? Who do you think was the best and worst dressed?
