Miley Cyrus has cleared up comments she made seemingly taking a swipe at internet sensation Rebecca Black's success, insisting she was "misquoted".
Miley is already a showbiz veteran aged just 18 thanks to years in the public eye on TV and as a pop star. She was quizzed by Aussie radio hosts about the current trend for unknown singers using YouTube.com to promote their career. Black has scored a massive hit with her self-penned novelty tune Friday after posting a video of her singing the song online.
And Cyrus raised eyebrows when she replied, "It should be harder to be an artist. You shouldn't just be able to put a song on YouTube and go out on tour."
But the star insists her comments were taken out of context, and reveals she's a huge fan of her new contemporary, telling E! Online, "I am a fan of Rebecca Black. I love Rebecca Black. I just got misquoted. I think she's great.
"I actually have this really embarrassing video that my sister has on her phone and I'm just waiting till the day that she puts it on YouTube. It's me driving, singing Rebecca Black and my hands are not always on the wheel while I'm singing the song. Not so good."
We hope that video gets online soon!
