Monique Coleman is about to get a little bit busier.

Besides hosting her own show, "Gimme Mo," the "High School Musical" star was just named the UN Youth Champion for the International Year of Youth.

Monique attended a briefing this morning where it was announced that she will be the UN Youth Champion until 2011. Monique shared, "I just found out today that this position is the first-ever, and that is beyond an honor. It's truly with great honor that I accept this position. I've always been passionate about youth and youth issues which was the inspiration behind my talk show."

She also shared her excitement via twitter: Thank you! @StdntMvmnt2010 @unyouthyear I'm reporting for duty & ready to serve! YOUth in every corner of the world deserve a voice. I intend to do my very best this yr & I can't wait to hear your ideas! @StdntMvmnt2010 @unyouthyear Our Year, Our Voice!
