Johnny Depp is back at the top of the box office and this time he's an animated lizard.

The movie star's computer-animated western Rango took in a staggering $38 million in its opening weekend, beating Matt Damon's sci-fi thriller The Adjustment Bureau to the top by $18 million.

Vanessa Hudgens and Alex Pettyfer's retelling of the Beauty & The Beast fable in Beastly debuted with $10 million. The film has opened in third place.
