Rapper/actor Romeo refused to be downhearted after he was voted off "Dancing With the Stars," insisting the series "has changed my life forever".

Injured actor Ralph Macchio was widely expected to leave the line-up after receiving the lowest score from the judges on Monday night, but it was Romeo and his professional partner Chelsie Hightower who were booted.

The musician remained positive after hearing he had lost out in the public vote on Tuesday evening, admitting he was delighted to have had the chance to improve his fancy footwork.

He says, "I'm surprised because I did my best dances, but at the same time I'm not surprised. This show has changed my life forever. I didn't dance at my own prom. I've turned down a lot of movies because I was afraid to dance."

Hightower added, "I'm super happy and so proud of you."

Chelsea Kane, Kirstie Alley, Hines Ward, and Macchio will compete in the semi-finals next week.

Are you sad that Romeo got voted off?
