Is Taylor Lautner about to "smell what The Rock is cooking?
Ok, maybe not, but he might be starring in a new movie with Dwayne ';The Rock' Johnson. According to THR, Lautner and Johnson have been offered the lead roles in Relativity's new film Goliath, which is described as a period action movie made with contemporary sensibilities but based on the Biblical tale.
So far everything is still in early talks, but are hoping for the star power of these two. It seems though, that a matter of money might come into play. Apparently, both actors command upwards of $10 million in asking prices, depending on the project, so talks could end before formal negotiations even begin.
Here's a little more on the story of the film. "The story is set in motion when the fierce warrior Goliath is sent to track down a foretold king of the Israelites. A young shepherd David is thrust into an epic chase and adventure fighting for his own life, the lives of his loved ones and eventually the lives of his people. The story climaxes in a battle of literal Biblical proportions between the young man and the giant sent to destroy him."
It will be interesting to see how these talks progress. Either way, we'd love to see Lautner try and take on the Rock. Maybe it can be the next Smackdown special?
Lautner can be seen on the big screen next testing out his action skills in Abduction, in theaters September 23. And if you missed it, check out Lautner's VMAN cover here.
