Zac Efron was considered to be a seasoned pro after doing Hairspray and three High School Musicals so his decision to skip out on the remake of Footloose stunned many fans. According to Zac, it was one of the hardest decisions he's had to make.

Efron was the first actor attached to the remake, but had to turn the lead role down after realizing the new version would not live up to the original, which starred Kevin Bacon.

He tells Details magazine, "All the things I loved about Footloose I couldn't find in the project. They just weren't there. I couldn't see myself doing it."

And then he had to tell High School Musical creator Kenny Ortega he didn't want to be a part of the movie: "I love Kenny with all my heart, it was literally the hardest phone call I've ever made."

Are you upset that Zac turned down the role?
