Everyone loves a good musical now and then right? It looks like Zac Efron and Justin Timberlake are both looking to star in the movie adaptation of Memphis.
Sources close to Timberlake told the New York Post in May that he was interested in playing DJ Huey Calhoun in the film version and now BroadwayWorld.com has revealed Efron has seen the show twice in recent months and is also interested.
Zac Efron was actually spotted at the show earlier this week with Vanessa Hudgens and director Adam Shankman. We know Zac is no stranger to the movie musical and Justin definitely has the singing chops.
Inspired by actual events, Memphis is about a white radio DJ who wants to change the world and a black club singer who is ready for her big break. Come along on their incredible journey to the ends of the airwaves - filled with laughter, soaring emotion and roof-raising rock ';n' roll.
This isn't the first time JT has fought for a role in a film based off of a Broadway show. He heavily campaigned for the role of Roger in the 2005 film adaptation of RENT, but producers felt that the role should go to Adam Pascal who originated the role on Broadway. Do you think Justin will have better luck this time around?
Who do you think would make a better DJ Huey Calhoun?
