Movie star and singer Zooey Deschanel has re-recorded the Winnie the Pooh theme for Disney's upcoming movie about the honey-loving bear.

The actress and her She & Him bandmate M. Ward have created new music for the film, according to CinemaBlend.com. As well as Deschanel's take on the theme tune, the pop couple has also recorded "So Long," which will be played over the end credits of the movie, which opens in America on July 15.

The actress admits she jumped at the chance to be part of Winnie's world: "Who doesn't love Winnie The Pooh… You just wanna hug him."

The children's songs will come in handy when the actress becomes an aunt later this year – sister Emily announced she is pregnant on Thursday.
